Happy New Year 2013!

Well today I am starting off one of my many New Year resolutions...Make time to BLOG MORE!!!!  It gets to be such a daunting task when I get so far behind.  My goal is to update every week (whether I have new pictures of not).  Today I copied all my pictures from the flash drives onto my computer.  Tomorrow I plan to copy all my pictures from my computer onto disks and an external hard drive.  Then, I will start to fill in the gaps I missed from 2012 on our family blog.  It may take awhile, but I am determined to get caught up!

We had a delightful Christmas and a fabulous week with the kids!  Man...do I LOVE staying home!  Some day I will be able to work part time (just don't know when that will happen).

I wish you all a New Year filled with endless love, laughter, and many blessings.  Remember life is too short to not stop smell the coffee (or roses - whichever you prefer), and enjoy all the wonderful things life brings your way! That is another one of my resolutions!  Finding balance, letting the little things go, spending more quality time with my family, and really take time to appreciate all the blessings in my life!

Annual Quist Camping Weekend

This past weekend we met The Quist Family at Baraboo Hills Campground for our second annual camping weekend.  Let's just say it went better than last year and know it will be even better next year.  The hardest part is that routines are gone and kids get crabby (well at least the 3 year old does). Brooklyn was SO excited to sleep in a tent, she couldn't stop talking about it.  Emmett loves the outdoors, so he was in his element all weekend.  He was super dirty, but had a great time playing in the dirt and sand.  Emmett didn't sleep so well in the pack and play the first night, but did take a 3 hour nap on Saturday and slept much better the second night.  I always feel bad for the other campers knowing that my child can probably be heard crying a mile away in the middle of the night.  Oh well...it will be better next year.

On Saturday we spent the morning at the beach playing in the lake and with the sand.  We came back to the site for lunch, Emmett took a nap, the big kids played games and read books, and then we all went to the pool, jump pad, playground, and mini golf.  The kids all got along fairly well.  The Racki's joined us for the day on Saturday, but didn't stay either night (they had friends staying at their house and they didn't know if they wanted to venture staying with Katelyn being 4 months old). I unfortunately don't have any pics of them or other fun activities we did...too busy I guess.

S'mores are always a hit at the end of a long day.  A great way to "sugar" up the kids before bed.

Thanks for a fun weekend!  We are looking forward to next year...I wonder what new "fun" item will be brought next year (this year it was a mini fridge, last year it was a bar and bar stools)

Fish Class

Brooklyn and I attended our second zoo class this summer.  This one was about fish.  She did a really nice job with the projects, was a great listener, and seemed to enjoy making her fish costume.  It is fun to see her interact with other kids and a teacher.  It may be a little glimpse into what Preschool will be like this fall.
