Christmas 2007

Mom and Grandma
This Christmas Ryan and I were very busy, but enjoyed every minute of it. We headed to MN on Friday evening, went to Pipestone, MN, which is where both of my grandmas live on Saturday. We spent Sunday morning with the Quist family. For the first time in many years everyone managed to make it to my Grandma's house. We had a total of 51 people celebrating Christmas together. This was the first Christmas without Grandpa, but we definitely know he was watching over us all day!

After a nice meal and a fun man/woman gift exchange, we headed over to my Grandma Haupert's house (my mom's mom). We enjoyed more snacks and sweets, played another fun adult gift exchange, and spent time with family. The best part about going to Pipestone, even though it is 4 hours west of Minneapolis, is that we get to see both extended families. What a blessing.

My family headed back to my parents house early Christmas Eve and spent some quality time with each other. This year we brought my Grandma H home to celebrate Christmas with us. My mom prepared a delicious Christmas Eve meal, we attended church, and then came back for a fun-filled gift opening. Every year for as long as I can remember my mom has put numbers on our gifts, instead of names. I guess Nate and I would always get into the presents when we were young, so my mom made it a little more difficult for us to be snooping around. She still puts numbers on our presents, which is a tradition I would love to continue with my family someday. We always get so excited when she calls off the names for each numbered gift.

The Quist Christmas went to the wee hours of the morning, but we sure had a blast! Thanks Mom and Dad for a wonderful Christmas! It is always nice to come home and spend quality time with you! I love you!
