Crazy weekend

This past weekend I flew home to MN (alone) to spend time with my family. Ryan and Brooklyn stayed home and had some bonding time together.
On Saturday we went wedding dress shopping for Katie. We went to two places, but found "the one" at The Wedding Shoppe. This is the same place that Jen (my sister in law) and I found our dresses. Katie was beautiful in everything she put on. When she put "the one" on, we all just knew. She ended up tearing up at the end and we all started crying and taking pics. You will just have to wait to see "the one" after her August 14th wedding. After wedding dress shopping we went to Jen and Nates house for dinner. I got to finally meet my beautiful niece. I feel like the worst Auntie, because as I looked back at my blog, I never posted the arrival of Andrea. (I am so sorry Jen and Nate)

She is so beautiful and has a lot of dark hair. The delivery went very well. Mommy and baby are doing wonderful. My brother, on the other hand, wasn't doing so hot after the delivery. Nate ended up having to go to the emergency room later that day and found out that he had to have an appendectomy. It was a crazy day for the Quist family. My mom was in the waiting room waiting for the good word on Nate, while Jen and Andrea were up stairs a few floors getting to know each other. Eventually Jen and Andrea came down to visit Nate. The family went home together on Wednesday and recovered at home together. What a story...
Welcome to the world Andrea! You are a beautifully blessed little girl with a family who loves you so much! We can't wait to watch you grow and learn!

The crazy part of the weekend began on Friday morning with a phone call from Miss Anne. She called to let me know that Brooklyn had a low grade fever (99.1) and she could feel her first tooth....WHAT????? Are you kidding! I just felt her gums before she went to bed and I didn't feel anything. It must have popped over night. BUMMER! Oh well, still SUPER exciting! After picking up Brooklyn, Ryan was a good daddy and went to Walgreens to buy some Motrin.
The next morning Ryan said that Brooklyn looked really glossy eyed and didn't seem herself, so he took her temp. 102.9...so he called me right away! That seemed too high for a tooth fever. I told him to keep checking it and keep giving her Tylenol. To make a long story short, Brooklyn had a temp of 100.5-102.9 all weekend. Ryan called the doctor on Saturday and she said that if she still has a fever on Monday to come in and get it checked out. Ryan was a great daddy all weekend. I was the annoying wife and mommy who called almost every hour to see how she was. I felt so guilty and bad that I wasn't there to help. I trusted Ryan and knew he would do a great job, but just wanted to be there to help and cuddle. Thank you honey for being such a fabulous daddy! Brooklyn loves you so much!
When I got home on Sunday night, I was super excited to see my family! I was so sad to see that Brooklyn looked sick.... poor girl. She still had a fever last night, so I decided to stay home with her today and take her to the doctor. Her fever decreased as the day went on, but I still took her in. Good thing I did...we found out that she has her first ear infection in her left ear. Poor girl! It was nice cuddling with Brooklyn today, but she sure wasn't her happy self. The hardest thing is knowing that I can't really do anything to help the pain (besides give her medicine).
When we got to the doctor I was asked to put a mask on Brooklyn...yeah right....
