Brooklyn's First Birthday Party finally arrived. We went with a "pinkalicious" theme. My first graders love the book Pinkalicious and I thought it would be a fun way to celebrate Brooklyn's birthday, since she loves the color pink.
On the invites (which I tried to scan in, but couldn't get it the way I wanted it - so I didn't add it to the pics) we asked our guests to consider wearing Brooklyn's favorite color (pink) as a way to honor her on her special day. It was wonderful to see almost everyone wearing something pink.
The details and decorations...
(we kept it pretty simple)
The Birthday Girl...
The cake....
(This is the first fancy cake I tried my hand at making. I was pretty impressed. The only thing is that there really wasn't enough for all the guests to enjoy. Next time I will have to make two cakes)

I made Brooklyn her own little cake.
Brooklyn had her favorite boys help her blow out her candle.
Brooklyn was very dainty when eating her cake. She loved the frosting, but spit out the first few bites of the cake. She eventually learned to love it!

The gift opening...
Brooklyn received a lot of very thoughtful gifts. She got lots of cute clothes, which she needed. Thank you everyone for your generosity!

Missing is the Warner Family (unfortunately Kristin and Jay were struck with the flu) We missed them, but were honored to see the shirt they made for Jack to wear. It said "I Love (heart) NY (crossed out)" and in pink was the word Brooklyn. Super cute and SO thoughtful!
