2 months old

Emmett is 2 months old today! I can hardly believe it! He is such growing little man! He did well with his shots today at the doctors.
His stats:
length: 23 3/4 inches - 76 %
(3 3/4 inches longer than at birth)
weight: 11 lbs 10 oz - 50 %
(gained 4 pounds from birth weight)
head: 38.6 - 22 %
Dr. Franck said he looks good. She did, however, give me a name of a children's plastic surgeon to call and meet with about the little bump (cyst) he has on his right temple. She said it would be much better getting it removed now. She anticipates it only growing larger. Great! Now I will have 2 kids would will have had anesthesia before 4 months old (Brooklyn had surgery for her tongue). So sad, but I guess it is better to do it now.

Emmett is still quite fussy at times. I look forward to 3 months...hopefully the fussiness with turn into happiness. However, I do have to say that I think it is getting better. I am able to read his cries more. I know when he is hungry, when he is in pain, and when he is tired. He is sleeping 4 hour stretches at night. We typically put him down at 10:00 and he will sleep until 2 or 3. I will feed him and then he will sleep until about 6:00. Dr. Franck said to start putting him down earlier. So, that is our plan for tonight. He seems to be his crabbiest from 6:30ish - 10:00, maybe it is because he is so tired.
Emmett is smiling and cooing lots. He definitely knows his mommy! I think I am raising a mama's boy! I am TOTALLY fine with that!
What a cutie!
Other things:
*He loves baths, now that we put him on a foam mat in the bathtub.
* He smiles and coos when he gets his diaper changed.
*He eats well, but still spits up quite a bit.
*He loves his sister and knows her voice.
*He is staying awake and is more content hanging out on the floor looking at stimulation.
*He has a very strong neck and doesn't mind being on his tummy.

Smiley
I continue to cherish my time with him while I am on maternity leave. I still have two months left, but I know it is going to fly!!!!! I wish I could work 3 days and stay home 2 days. I think I would feel so much more at ease and enjoy life more. I just have a feeling things are going to get so stressful once I head back to school. There just isn't enough time in the day to do everything, which I know is going to be frustrating. We'll see....I will just have to keep working on balancing my life.
