Our Christmas

Getting ready for Santa to come....
Santa came the night of Wednesday, December 22nd, as he knew we were traveling to Eau Claire and then MN over Christmas. Brooklyn set out the cookies she made at Miss Anne's house. She was SUPER excited for Santa to come. We talked it up really big!

The next morning this is what we found...
Santa was hungry! He drank all the milk and ate 2 whole cookies and took a bite out of the last two cookies.

He left books and socks in Emmett's stocking
Books, socks, and Frosty the Snowman movie in Brooklyn's stocking
We found Eddie the Elf on the wreath by above the fireplace....we wonder if he was watching Santa for us.

He left this huge kitchen for Brooklyn
The video is a little long...enjoy!

Brooklyn was SO excited about her new kitchen, once the shock factor wore off. She explored it all morning.

Emmett had a wonderful first Christmas, even though he had NO clue what was happening! Brooklyn was SUPER excited that she got to open all of his presents too!
Checking Daddy's heart beat with her new doctor's kit
Emmett and Mommy just enjoying all the sights and sounds of Christmas! I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR!
Santa also brought Brooklyn and Emmett a big foam floor puzzle, perfect for downstairs!
Trying out the new sit and spin
After a morning full of opening presents with just our family, we packed up the remainder of the car, had a quick lunch and were off to Eau Claire. We left around nap time for both of the kids. Brooklyn slept an hour and a half (we were hoping for more) and Emmett made it the whole way. We were half hour away from Eau Claire when Emmett woke up and realized that he needed to eat....we powered through the cries (Emmett's and Brooklyn mimicking Emmett's cry) and made it to Eau Claire without stopping! We realized that this is probably a once in a lifetime thing.
It was SO nice to be able to spend time with our immediate family (even though it was a few days before Christmas). This will most likely be our tradition from now on. We figured we will always be traveling over Christmas, but it is important for us to have our own Christmas as well. We thought about saving it for after our travels, but we knew we would be "Christmased out", as we were.
