Other things about this handsome 5 month old:
*I would love to say that he is on a set schedule, but that is not the case. As much as I tried, I think having 2 kids affected the schedule setting routine. He does take a good morning nap (usually 2 hours), but the afternoon naps are hit and miss. We are still working on it.
*I would also love to say that he is sleeping through the night...that all depends on the day you ask me. Some nights he sleeps from 8pm-6am without getting up, some nights he is up 2-3 times. If he does get up, we have been checking his swaddle (which he usually breaks out of), reswaddling him, and then letting him cry it out (which we both dislike doing, but know it is the best for him). I stopped nursing him in the middle of the night at 4 months. We just never know what the night is going to bring.
*He continues to be a spitter-upper. He tends to spit up more from nursing than from a bottle.
*We are supplementing one formula bottle before he goes to bed, my body just can't keep up. He is taking 6-8 oz bottles throughout the day (now that I am back at work, he is bottle fed breast milk most of the day). I am hoping to nurse through the summer, but the way he is eating, I don't know how long I will last.
*We did try cereal for the first time last week. We aren't doing it consistently, but will start in a few weeks. I can't believe it is that time already!
*Emmett is babbling lots and loves to blow/spit bubbles.
*He is a back archer, which is a sign that is wants a change of pace or is tired.
*We are working on sitting up on his own, but he is such a crazy mover that I think it will take awhile. However, he does love to stand propped up on things.
*He can roll from his tummy to his back and his back to his tummy.
*He is learning to be one tough cookie - the poor kid is hit, bumped, pushed, pulled, and kissed so much throughout the day by his big sister. She means well most of the time, but just doesn't know how to touch him gently. I am sure he will appreciate it all some day!
