Our first zoo class this summer was about Hippos. Did you know that hippos can stay under water for 5 minutes? Did you know that hippos eat at night? Did you know that hippos make their own sunscreen when it is hot and sunny which is why hippos sometimes look pink? Those are the three facts Brooklyn keeps talking about. We also know that they love to eat apples for a treat. When we went to see the hippos in the zoo after class they were in and out of the water. They came up close to use and the zoo keeper and were opening their mouths. They wanted to eat and thought they were going to get an apple treat. It was really neat!
Brooklyn really takes her time and thinks about things when she does projects. I love to watch her thought process. She can be very creative.

Because all the kids were good listeners and worked hard, they earned a ride on the merry go round after class and a little picnic lunch.
