Thanksgiving 2008

We had a lovely Thanksgiving. This year was our year to go to Pipestone (southwest corner of MN - about 4 hours from the cities). Ryan and I left around 11:30 on Wednesday, made it to the cities by 5:30, had dinner with the family, all gathered in the suburban and headed for another 4 hour drive to Pipestone. It was definitely a day of traveling and my poor ankles and feet told me that I traveled too much in one day. I had my first incident of swollen feet...they looked really funny.

We celebrated Thanksgiving day with the Quist family. There were about 40 of us altogether. Grandma's house is always crazy when we gather for the holidays, but I love every minute of it. We enjoyed delicious food, great conversations, and each other's company. That evening we went over to Grandma Hauperts house and enjoyed some more food, some couch time looking at all the Black Friday adds, and some great conversations. We left Pipestone around 7:30 Thanksgiving night, as my mom, Katie, Jen and I were all geared up to go shopping early the next morning.

The girls got up bright and early Friday morning to join all crazy people bargain shopping at 6:00 am.

Our first stop...
(The Home Depot)

After a very successful morning and not too much waiting in line, we made our way back home around 1:30. I had such a fun time! Thanks ladies - I look forward to doing it again. We missed Amy, but thought of her all morning. Now that she is a married woman, she has learned that she has to split her time with both families. Amy and Anthony celebrated Thanksgiving with Anthony's family this year.
