Being a mommy and daddy is even better than Ryan and I EVER thought it would be. The unconditional love we have for our little beautiful baby Brooklyn is so amazing! Ryan and I have been so emotional this week. Every time we look at our beautiful daughter we are just in awe. Feeding time is the most emotional time for me. What an amazing gift!
Here is a little bit of our first week being a mommy and daddy...
1 day old (Tuesday night in the hospital)
First night at home. We decided to put Brooklyn in her crib right away on the first night. She looks so small, but it seems to be working really well. Her room is only a room away and with a monitor we can hear her every breath.
On Thursday we gave Brooklyn her first sponge bath. She did NOT like the bath. I am hoping that will change. I was sure she would like baths, as I showered LOTS during my pregnancy.
This is one of Ryan's favorite pictures of his two favorite girls!
All week Ryan kept saying that he was so excited that we had a girl. He told me that he was secretly hoping for a girl. He continues to say that he is going to spoil her and she will get anything she wants....mmmm....we'll see about that. He was SUPER excited to find this sign. he put it in the snowbank at the end of our driveway.
They say to enjoy every minute of being a parent because kids grow up so quickly. I can't believe how much Brooklyn has changed in just 6 days.
Grammy Q gave Brooklyn her second bath. She seemed to like this one a little better.
Play time with daddy
Jason, Holly, and Graham came over Saturday night and brought dinner. Graham still calls Brooklyn "Triangle". I think she is stuck with that as a nickname. He loves his new cousin.
The Hanks came over Thursday night. They were so thoughtful and brought soup for dinner, along with another soup which we froze and will eat later next week.
Here are the boys with their babies!
Today, our good friends Mark and Marisa came to visit.
Week one was amazing, exhausting, unpredictable, rewarding, emotional, breathtaking, and unforgettable, and better than we ever dreamed of. We are looking forward to week 2. Hopefully things will get a little easier.
