Week Two

Every day brings upon a new adventure. We are cherishing every moment of these early weeks. Many people warned me that the first few weeks are horrible. Ryan and I decided that so far (we will keep our fingers crossed) the first few weeks haven't been horrible, just unpredictable. Brooklyn really is a very good baby. She only cries when she has gas pains or is uncomfortable. We can definitely tell when she is in pain. The worst part is not knowing how to help the pain go away.
At her two week appointment she weighed 6 lbs 10.8 oz. They say that babies are supposed to be back at their birth weight by 14 days, well, Brooklyn blew those numbers out of the water. I was all worried that I wasn't feeding her enough, I guess I was wrong. We can definitely tell that she is starting to fill out. We can see it in her cheeks, legs, arms, and her tummy. She is getting to be such a big girl.
I love watching her sleep, eat, squirm, focus on me, and every little thing she does. She has been awake during the day a lot more. We have been reading lots of books, learning from our tummy time mat, playing with fun toys, and learning about the world around us on our daily adventures outside the house. We have been to Target, Menards, Home Depot, the Mall, a few restaurants, and a few other places. We try to get out of the house for a little bit each day.

Sleeping in her swing
(thanks Marisa for letting us borrow it - she seems to love it)

Learning on our tummy time mat. We only do a few minutes of tummy time each day. Brooklyn is not a huge fan of being on her tummy.

Bath time with daddy. We haven't given her a "real" bath yet, but plan to sometime this week.
Is that a little curl we see in your hair? Where do you get that from?
