3 Months Old

We are SO proud of our 3 month old girl! She has grown so much (maybe not so much physically) in 12 short weeks!

We had a 3 month check up on Monday just to see if she was continuing to grow. Her new stats:
Length: 22 inches
Weight: 9lbs 3 oz
Yipee...she is growing. She is still in the 3rd percentile for weight and 11th percentile for length, but Dr. Franck isn't concerned. She thinks that she will just be a peanut, which is now her new nickname. She said that she is very proportionate, which is good. I did notice that since her surgery, she has a better latch and gained 7 oz in one week (19 oz the whole month) which I think is a good sign that getting her tongue taken care of was the right thing to do.
We are officially done with newborn diapers. They were getting a little small and we were having blowouts quite a bit. Size one diapers are too big for Brooklyn, but we opted to go this route and save some clothes from blowouts. I have finally put away some of her newborn clothes. She is now wearing 0-3 months and some 3 month items (these are still pretty big on her).

Things our 3 month old can do...
  • stick out her new tongue
  • grab and hold onto toys
  • grab and hold onto her feet
  • smile and giggle
  • sleep through the night :)
  • sit in her bumbo and propped on the couch
  • look at herself in the mirror
  • hang out on her tummy for a few minutes without crying
  • lifts her head when we put on and take off her shirt
  • drool and blow bubbles out of her mouth
  • waves her arms and kicks her legs (when she is happy and mad)
  • recognizes mommy and daddy and our voices (or at least we think she does)
  • suck on her fists, thumb, fingers

Some things Brooklyn loves...
  • Baby Yoga and massages
  • listening to music
  • listening to stories. She knows Goodnight Moon by heart, since she hears it every time she goes to bed or takes a nap.
  • taking a bath
  • playing with toys
  • playing on her playmat (she is a lot more active on it now)
  • going on walks
  • bouncing up and down (we get a good work out by bouncing her)
Look at me...I am so big! I can sit in my bumbo!!!!!

Talk about stimulation...YIKES!
Is that what I look like?

I am ready for the sun...

hmmm...how does this thing work?

I love this new toy!

Showing off my new tongue. I can stick it out farther than this.

Smiling for the camera in my pretty jean jumper
