8 months old

Brooklyn is 8 months old!
Can you believe it? What happened to our little baby? She is such a big girl and has grown so much in the last month.
Brooklyn is just getting over her first cold. I was home sick two weeks ago for 2.5 days and tried my best to stay away from Brooklyn so she would stay healthy - that didn't work. She never got a fever, but got a cough, a stuffy nose, and sneezed lots. We elevated her bed, put on her cool mist humidifier, and even went to the doctor after 4 days without a nap. We just wanted to make sure she was ok. The Dr. said she sounded just fine and she didn't have an ear infection. We also found out that Brooklyn gained 4 pounds in 2 months!!!! The biggest weight gain ever. She is now 16 lbs 2 oz.

Look at those cheeks!
Brooklyn continues to be a great eater. She is now eating Puffs. I started off breaking them in thirds, but now give them to her whole. I was VERY nervous giving her whole puffs, but she is gumming her food, so I knew it would be ok. She continues to enjoy every veggie and fruit we have given her. Making her food is going well. I am now at the stage where I need to start introducing her to some more finger foods, rather than pureeing everything. She does a great job drinking water out of a sippy cup all on her own.
She now feeds herself the puffs.
Cool weather = cute hats....

This one is too big, but it was $2.00 and I couldn't resist.
It will fit wonderfully this winter and next fall.
Brooklyn's new little funny trick is breathing in and out of her nose really fast. She scrunches up her nose and puckers her lips. It is so funny!
Check out the beautiful sweater a friend of mine made her. It is her coat right now, until we find a winter one that fits her.
Brooklyn is a rolling machine. She rolls and scootches everywhere. She is army crawling and is able to get up on all fours. She rocks a little, sticks her butt up in the air, goes back to her knees, moves her legs a little, and then crawls using her arms. She will be full out crawling in no time.

A few other things going on with Brooklyn right now...

*She now sleeps all over her crib. Sometimes she is on her tummy, on her side, or on her back. Most times she is wedged up either in the corner or on the side of her crib, which is why I finally took off her bumper pads (for now) this week.

*She loves to stand and walk around things (holding onto them, of coarse). She is getting to be a little risk taker and starting to let go of the things she is holding onto for a quick second.

*She continues to be a very happy and smiley baby. She fusses when she is hungry or tired.

*She loves going to Miss Anne's house. The girls love her and she loves the girls. They go to story time once a week at the library, play outside a lot (when it is nice out), go to the park, play with dolls and do crafts. Miss Anne's says that Brooklyn fits right in and is a joy to have every day. We feel blessed that we found such a wonderful day care situation (since I am unable to stay home with her).

*Brooklyn waves "bye bye" and "hi" all the time.

*She loves to listen to music and jump in her jumper.

*She still doesn't have any teeth. You would think that she would have some with the way she drools and chews on things. I have a feeling they are all going to come at once.

*She loves to listen to stories. She stays attentive for a longer period of time. She really likes song, repetition, and rhyming books.

*She loves her baths even more now that she is sitting up and playing with her toys. She loves to splash the water with her hands and kick with her feet.
