Enjoying a nice fall day

On Friday night, after Brooklyn went to bed, Ryan and I decided to carve our pumpkins.

Here is what we came up with...
This is mine
and this is what we created for Brooklyn

On Saturday morning we showed her the pumpkin we created for her. It was exciting watching her learn about and explore the pumpkin.

Really? You made it for me? Thank you mommy and daddy!

On Saturday night, our friends the Warmers came over. Ryan, Brooklyn and I went on our first Halloween trick or treating adventure while The Warners managed the door for us. We made it to three houses. She cried at the first house. It could have been the shark hat I was wearing...I would cry too if I saw my mommy getting eaten by a shark! The boys had fun answering the door and haggling all the kids who were too old to be trick or treating. We enjoyed a little fire outside, and ended the night with yet another rock band concert. Thanks for a fun evening!

Forever friends...

As for Brooklyn's costume...
I just wasn't sure what she was going to be. I bought a cute pumpkin sleeper for her, but that just wasn't doing it for me. While visiting Nate and Jen last weekend, Jen mentioned that she had the lion costume Daniel wore and we could borrow it if we would like. Perfect!!!! Thanks Jen! It fit Brooklyn just right and looked super cute on! Notice the pink ribbon I added to the mane...she had to wear something pink...it is her favorite color! :)

Little Miss Lion, and Mr. Froggie

Overall, I would say Brooklyn's first Halloween was hit! Can't wait 'til next year!
Looks like a fun first Halloween for Brooklyn. I'm glad the costume fit, she looks great in it. It also looks like it was a little warmer there than it was here... brr...
